My First Ever Failure - Wordle

It's finally happened:-( I have had a few successes on the 2nd guess, a good few on the 3rd, quite a few on the 4th and 5th, and one or two last ditch successes on the 6th. However, until this morning, i have never completely bombed out. And that was after securing all bar the first letter in it's correct place on the 2nd guess. Yes, people, it is one of 'those' words that can begin with many of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Good luck in choosing the right one before you run out of guesses. Like me :-((
As an aside, i did read that there were lots of folk bewildered by the fact yesterday's Wordle contained no vowels. Really? Just how many 5-letter vowel-less words are there in the English language?

The disadvantage with Sunny-D/foxylee's strategy is that it breaks the "hard mode" method, when you are obliged to use correct letters from your previous guess. so if you were stuck on *atch, and try catch, batch, watch and latch, and it turned out to be HATCH, then tough luck.

Yes, I have never tried the 'hard mode', I think I'll stick with the ordinary one
