No doubt they will find some excuse whilst conveniently forgetting the earths 4 bn year history.

Well seems 1855 (my grandads birth year) was the driest on record now.

Damn those Spinning Jennies, should have taken a cudgel to them.

//I think there are a lot of people making a lot of money out of this.//

And therein lies the problem.
Our weather is determined by the sun,as for the climate scientists of course they will continue to tell people what harm we are doing to our planet because their jobs depend on it.
fcc; do you form your opinions because your job depends on it? Why do some people presume that everyone else is corrupt and only in it for their own paypacket?
fcc

Really?
fcc; how does the sun determine our weather? And, more relevant to the issue, how does the sun determine our climate? (climate and weather are not the ame thing). Please don't say that it's obvious; please explain the mechanism of these things. If you can't do that, then I don't think your opinion is worth much.
Yes,our planets weather is and always has been controlled by the sun.
if you want to make the planet a better place to live go out a pick a couple of bags of litter up,it will have more effect than waving placards about and stopping traffic.
Climate change is happening. Deniers just look foolish at this point.

The only arguments to be had now are what, if anything, we do about it.
fcc; who are you talking to in your last post? Is it your imaginary enemy? Do you know what climate is?
fcc

The idea that those protesting and lobbying their governments would be better employed picking up litter is an over-simplification of the issue.

What is more effective? Lobbying governments to implement effective change in the way we consume resource; galvanising the public into making better choices…or…

…clearing litter without truncating the source?

Would it not be better to stem the source of the flood rather than trying to dry up the lake with a mop?
People sticking themselves to roads and trains aren’t ‘lobbying’ anyone. They’re just causing mayhem. I agree with fcc. Cleaning up rubbish would serve the planet more. If they want to be noticed they should organise themselves in a way that will encourage others to support them rather than despise them. A high viz jacket printed with appropriate wording and a pick-up stick would say far more to the world than a day in court. As it is they’re nothing more than a pain in the posterior.
As I have said before, a lot of these people are anti capitalists and are using the green movement to further their own agenda.
Athest, fri 22:17 my opinion is worth just as much your opinion,so less of the hoity-toity attitude you seem to have with some on AB.
