Biro stain on bag

Not sure where to post this question. I recently bought a lovely tan leather bag but I got (mysteriously I might add) a blue biro mark on it and am wondering if anyone knows how I could get the stain off without taking away the colour of the bag?

I've done a quick search for you, and the one thing that crops up again and again, is hairspray.
Maybe you could try it on the inside of the strap, just to make sure that the colour doesn't come away. Hope this helps you!!!

my daughter had biro marks on her leather settee which was removed by using hair laquer so I would imagine it will work on a leather bag
