deep down do you think he is shook to the core with the amount of sanctions imposed, and more than shocked with the number of major companies pulling out of Russia almost on a daily basis.

Gromit : "Switzerland has frozen Russian assets, but lots of the stolen money has been used to buy assets, that are sellable if money gets tight."

I have often considered it *extremely* puzzling why Hitler never took over Switzerland and its covert banks and their hidden assets and loot when he had ample chance.
One thing Hitler didn't have access to was cryptocurrency. I wonder if Putin has a personal stash ...

there's no where near enough Crypto to make any difference anyway.
Putin doesn't care about the Russian economy or people.

What he might be worried about if he's not gone completely mad, is the affect it all might be having on the people around him.

I'd like to think he'll be having a few sleepless nights about what might be in his cup of tea tomorrow. Nothing else, including the number of lives lost will be bothering him.
I think it was General Dannatt on R4 this morning who explained that the Kremlin is like a troika stool, one leg firm what with Putain (Fr.) in control of the military and the KGB, the second leg wobbling as in the Fortress's politicians and the third leg really crumbling, the 96 or more oligarchs that stand or have lost billions already - his forecast that the Putain has a week to get control or the stool will crumble underneath him - and his actions like threatening martial rule over the Ruskies as well as arresting thousands of protestors will kick him hard in the groin, if not more.
tomus, I agree, assassination from within the Kremlin walls, bring on Novichok Djokovic or whatever the assassin was called....

My view for whats its worth is.. Yes he may have made plans for some backlash but I don't think for one second he expected such a massive backlash on this scale. When he did this in Syria it was an easy ride all round.
In the latest photographs he looks stressed. And there is more misery to come for him, lay it on.
I think he may be shocked with the worldwide condemnation of his invasion, but it will not affect him as he has been shut off from normal life and he has total control over his people, he can do what he likes.

// good to see our resident 5Cers, gromit and jno, backing the enemy, TBH I'd be shocked if they weren't!//

I have not backed the enemy on this thread, or any other.
No idea why you slanderous post is allowed, but AB of late has lost the plot.
He might be disappointed the west has been so united against Russia. But he is a fatalist and probably does not care.
