Anyone?
I have tried, I really have, but I'm completely stumped by this puzzle. I've looked at the grid, but I can't make head nor tail of it.
4 Timbo, with I'm inside an anagram of Bot (swallowed by) is a fish poison...
BARACOUTA
LADY'S FINGER
TRAPPEAN
TIMBO
sorry, 2 Rs in BARRACOUTA
1 RACA = 'worthless'
2 a wedding ring would be the 'new adornment' - def is 'sponge cake.'
PEAN = 'part of hammer'

Thanks NAC.
I had ?IM??.

Not having answer lengths makes this a very difficult one.
The clues are more difficult than usual Azed puzzles.

Bookbinder, I have slowly made it half way.
If I have answers to any that you lack, I will give them to you.

Was trying to find a 4 letter word for Fish for 1.
Now have something to work with.
But will be back, I 'm sure.
It's quite an odd looking grid, hankir - there's a connected row of four horizontal bars in the middle of it (hope that helps a bit - I found it tough going).

Thanks ProfessorM. I made a lot of progress.
Now looking for
1. Third letter of Waitress... NI?PIE (6) (Across Clue)
I thought chatterer was Magpie.
2. First letter of Period of Festival... ?TAS(4), Down clue

Thanks.

NIPPIE
UTAS
You're right about magpie but it can just be 'pie'
A Nippie/Nippy was a waitress in Lyons' cafe (many years ago).

Thanks ProfessorM.
Not familiar with Lyons' Cafe.

I have Mayest for Art having ability..
but cannot parse it.
Otherwise all done.
that's right - archaic for 'art having the ability' (''can do'').
YES (consent) inside MAT = 'felt' (cloth/textile)

Thanks ProfessorM.
