We eat a lot of wet fish but our last fish shop has closed. Can anyone recommend an online retailer that sells frozen fish by post?

try searching for mobile fishmongers in your county

Sadly not, Maydup. Mobile butchers and even greengrocers but not fishmongers

Many years ago, back in the 50s and 60s, we had a mobile fishmonger come from Grimsby once a month. My mom bought a chest freezer so she could keep the fish stocks up.
As well as Morrison's, Waitrose has expressed a commitment to retain fresh fish counters in its supermarkets. Have you got a (larger) Waitrose near to you, Barry?

Upmarket 'food halls' often include a fishmonger's counter within them. That might be on a daily basis or just on a weekly 'pop up' one. (e.g. Suffolk Food Hall, near to me, has a pop-up fishmonger's stall every Thursday). Perhaps there might be something similar in your area? (If you'll tell us roughly where you live, I'll see if I can find anywhere that you might have missed).
If you ask at Morrison's they may be able to get you some. I nattered on about fresh mussles (there weren't any). Others obviously did the same because now fresh Scottish mussles are available several days a week (in fact the man behind the counter told me that a local fishmonger comes along early and buys several kilos which he then sells at his shop at inflated prices!). Worth trying - I find the fishmongers very knowledgeable.

I've asked Morrisons several times without success.
My nearest Waitose was 6 miles away but is now a Tesco. Ocado no longer delivers Waitrose.
There are no upmarket independents round here, it is a depressed working class area full of B&Ms, poundshops, barbers and tanning salons
So sorry Barry. I don't know where you live, but if you are anywhere at all near the coast there are sometimes vans come around inland with surplus catch from the docks. We're about 10 miles inland and they come occasionally and would do orders. There must be some firm somewhere - it's daft when we are an island nation!. I was raised near Bradford (about as inland as you can get) but there were fish stalls in the market.
A slot for an entrepreneur!

Jourdain, I believe I live the furthest from the coast that it is possible to within the UK
