Two parsing queries from 18 months ago :-
1) Preacher, one carrying around miniature cloth for protection? (5-7) B?BL? T?U?P?R. It has to be BIBLE THUMPER (Preacher), but I don't get the parsing even if HUMPER is one carrying around. Where does "protection" come in, and is a BIBLET a small cloth?

2) Pole and Greek performing in corner where Victoria is (4,4) H?N? K?N?. It has to be HONG KONG (Capital is/was Victoria) but I can't fathom the rest.

Hong Kong - 'n(orth pole) G(ree)k on (performing)' (all in) 'hog' (corner; monopolise)

^^^ sorry, should have added,
'miniature cloth for protection' = Biblet, and I agree 'humper' is not exactly a good analogy but does mean 'one carrying'.
I can see gk=Greek and on= performing but that still leaves hong which is where I get stuck.
