Used to love this stuff back in the 70s/80s.
I know they don’t do it/brew it any more, but what is the nearest contemporary taste/flavour, etc. beer you can currently get which is close to this brands?

Of all the lagers in all the world . . . you have to choose some right rubbish! (There are plenty of lagers that are far, far better than either of those two! Try some Czech, or other East European, ones!).

However if you want something that's at least slightly akin to Breaker, try Cobra. Yes, I know that using an Indian lager as a substitute for a British one sounds daft but they were/are both actually brewed by Molson Coors in Burton-on-Trent and there's definitely some similarity between them.
I got introduced to Colt 45 malt liquor during many trips to South Carolina in the '70s and really, really liked it. I don't drink it any more, but the Beer Stores here in Ontario stock it. It's $4.25 for a 710ml can...Maybe I'll try it again!
That's about 2.28 pounds per can.
