Working Tax Credits & Dental Treatments

We receive working tax credit because we're on a low income. I've just paid �130 for two fillings, and one of my friends at work told me I should have got this free, as we're on tax credits? Is this true?
It has totally skinted me so if it is true, can I claim it back somehow?

If you were treated privately (and many dentists only do private work) then no you can't get it back.

If it was NHS treatment then maybe - check out Jenna's link.

It was a private dentist as there's no NHS dentist in this area. Typical. thanks for your help.

if you go to http://www.nhs.uk/ (assuming you are in england) and in the top left corner there is a facility for a search of dentists, you put your postcode in and it lists the dentists by you and their services (ie accepting new nhs patients etc) you might have some luck there

thanks, will deff. have a look at that...
the thing is, we live in lincolnshire, and was told the only NHS dentists available were in nottinghamshire.
which is a bit of journey (petrol, too), but maybe it's improved a bit now....
