Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

All the answers are types of stitches - eg chain, satin, blanket, fly etc etc. most clues have a cryptic element.

I have three left out of 50 and am now stumped…..

32. Another name for a story
33. Thames, Amazon, Nile (I can’t find any reference to a ‘river’ stitch anywhere…)
44. Friends and smocks

33 could be Flower stitch another name for lazy daisy. Flower is often a clue for rivers in cryptic crosswords

Thank you Mark - I like ‘flower’ for 33 (even though another clue has lazy daisy as an answer). ‘Yarn’ for 32 is a good thought, obvious relevance but I can’t find a specific stitch. And yes, I think ‘gathering’ makes sense for 44 - from my limited knowledge, gathering is what you do to create smocking thought Incant find a specific stitch name. Many thanks!

LOL me saying ‘thank you Mark’ - as in ‘Mark as best answer’!

Thanks all who responded. This is not my field at all but I struggled to find ‘tail’ and ‘river’ as named stitches on Google….

Ah thanks Tilly2. Now all I need to justify is the alternative spelling tail / tale versus ‘yarn’ which is better as a story, but again not an explicit stitch that I can find!
