So I met this Japanese guy on a dating app. He's 27 years old and he's a software engineer. He lives in Japan and I live in the Philippines. Since I told him that I'm an English teacher, he asked me to teach him. We never had an agreement about my compensation but we're still having classes for two months now. Should I ask him to pay me or I'll just wait? I don't also think he'll talk about it sooner though. But he mentioned that expenses here is really cheap since he had studied in our country. I don't think paying me is too expensive for him considering his job. I don't know what to do though. Please I need your advice. Maybe I'm really shy to ask him coz I lowkey like him.

you shouldn't be teaching him without some sort of money involved, that should have been made clear at the outset. I wonder that if you mention the money he will stop contacting you... if that's the case then you have lost nothing, because he wasn't worth pursuing.

Should you just wait for what? Perhaps, because you didn’t make it clear that you would require payment, he assumes you’re teaching him free - and after two months he has no reason to think differently. I think you have to be honest with him and say you need to discuss payment with him.
agree, you need to be specific about payment, otherwise you are doing this for free, which you shouldn't be doing.
Teaching for free is fine is you’re happy to do that but if you’re not you need to tell him. He really should have asked you rather than take advantage of the friendship.
So you met on a dating app not on a business site where you advertised English lessons.
You should have made it clear at the very start that you must be paid for the lessons and told him how much you charge and how he should pay.
If you didn't you can't expect him to pay for the lessons he has had as he didn't agree to it
You could tell him you want him to start paying if he wants to continue with the lessons
see what he says and does when you suggest a fee, if he stops contact then he wasn't much of a friend.
It may be too late for a straight forward payment, you should have discussed it before you did it so you both knew where you stood.
It is now getting late to ask for payment for your teaching. He may have presumed it was all done freely by you. If it has cost you nothing forget compensation and work on your relationship.
In his next lesson, teach him how to say, "How much does my teacher want for the lessons?"
nope - you agreed to teach him without charge
you cant now charge him
