Is there a programme out there that'll let me record and edit music, I make audio music quizzes and my old CD recorder has decided to pack up on me, I've had it about 25 years so can't really complain.
What I would like is to make a CD of 10 clips of music, around 10 to 15 seconds long, something with an idiots guide to using it as i'm not tech minded, is there anything out there, thanks for any help.

Where are getting the clips of music from? Is the music already on your PC?
also does your computer have a CD slot?
Have a look at Wavepad Sound Editor. There's a free download and a free-to-use version for non-commercial use.

barry1010, I do have music stored on my PC and I also have it on thousands of CDs.
bednobs, my computer does have a CD slot.
With Wavepad you can record from CD or via microphone input using microphone or output from a tuner. You can then alter the volume/chop the front or back etc to produce am MP3 file or a CD.
Audacity is pretty good too
I also use mp3 trim to make ringtones or clip tracks to fit videos
It is very simple to use in comparison to Audacity which can be a bit overbearing
I'll second stickybottle on audacity - I've used it as well as Wavepad.
