This is an absolutely stunning journal of the author's illustrations and observations. It is not scholarly and is light on scientific detail. But the drawings, particularly of insects and and other creatures is a delight.

Buy one for yourself too gness. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. I got mine from Amazon warehouse and it's in excellent condition...I'm too damn stingy to pay full price for myself.

Reminds me of a book , I think it was called The Country Diary 9f an Edwardian Lady. That was lovely too.
