but some of the posts/answers over the past couple of days have made me wonder if I really want to be part of it any more. Such nastiness and personal digs make it very unpleasant reading. I'm as quick as the next person to make a joke or a funny quip but this is way worse than that.

Lankeela; social media enables anonymous oddbods to vent their spleen in the knowlege that there will be other similar oddbods to support them. It's sad, and so different from the old days in our evolution when everyone in the village knew everyone else and would make allowances or not for the few local oddbods. Local oddbods in those days were accepted as part of the human race, but nowadays they tend to be labelled as oddbods and thereafter picked on and insulted, and so the oddbods defend themselves by insulting back, and so it goes.
Not very well expressed, but I wish that people would be kinder and more understanding of each other.

You're no stranger to handing out insults, Atheist. It always amazes me when the guilty convince themselves of their own innocence.

That said, it's not the bickering or the insults that put me off posting....it's the boring repetitive threads from the one trick pony.

Lankeela, like you, I am disappointed in the decline of this site. It always used to be a firm favourite of mine to peruse . When I joined , we chatted and played games , went out on a Saturday night , and all had a good time. I am Flump and I took a break a while ago following a spat where I was left feeling uncomfortable. The site for me then became an area for certain users to be overbearing and I lost enjoyment. There was a certain thread where I felt I had been ridiculed, so left for a while. We lost some beautiful souls who we had formed friendships with. It was a sad time. I missed Answerbank and my friends .One in particular ! Please , take a deep breath, have a cup of tea and stay. We have lost too many good and long serving members x

Islander. I recall the thread that upset you. Totally unnecessary but it was around then that the nastiness took hold. Probably due, in part, to the decline of SAB. Hope you and yours are well...x

the problem is the double standards. a couple of posters routinely insult every one and get away with it. Consistent application of the rules would be a good start.

TTT; some people here routinely insult everyone by calling them 'nasty lefties' or 'TROB' or 'TROP' or similar in-crowd dog whistle labels. It's not nice and doesn't lead to intelligent discussion of important issues. Present company excepted. :-)

You will always get bitchiness/cattiness/ nastiness of forms on any site, but I would genuinely miss everyone here if this group vanished - it’s my little online gang lol.
