//Mr Skou estimated that approximately 300 large container ships around the world are sitting waiting outside ports. Almost 80 of these, he added, were in Los Angeles, with a "few" outside Felixstowe and others stuck by Chinese ports including Shanghai and Ningbo.// Bloody Brexit.

Hope he is right.

But he is hardly going to advertise the possibility that Christmas might not be fine.

We will have wait and see what happens.
And the article does say that port congestion is getting worse & increasing numbers of ships are now waiting outside ports to unload so not much use to the consumer on land thus not quite the guarantee of business as usual.
Nah, Gully will be on to claim that the ships are all rust buckets and that they end up blocking ports and canals or the port cranes will pack up and it's all Boris's fault.
The real issue Mr Skou admits is lack of manpower which begs the question how will that cope with the extra ports facilities.
No one here seems bothered here anyway apparently.
Less “stuff” less tat less of everything :-)
