I regularly monitor my blood presure (3xdaily) and have noticed about a 10% rise the day after my booster jab. There are reports of others being affected around the world. Anyone else here experienced this? I have reported via the Yellow Card scheme.

Have you had similar increases at any other times?
I was told I may feel my BP rise or feel palpitations but not to worry, it was ok because I had no side effects like that but I was advised it could be an issue
10% rise is pretty small depending upon the level at which you start.
I am sure that there a few people who check their BP daily, let alone three times a day.
Indeed sqad

Why do you check 3/daily, Arrods ?

It started 4 years ago when I noticed I had a low pulse rate. (I’m not an athlete by the way!). I took measurements for 2 weeks and they averaged out at 142/81/49, 140/84/50 and 132/80/50 during the day. I had the echo and electrocardiograms and the heart consultant said that all was fine and only come back if I experienced any problems, which I haven’t.

I started the monitoring a couple of weeks ago, purely out of interest, and it was only after the covid booster jab that I noticed the circa 10% increase. I’ll continue to monitor over the next few days.
Er, if you have low blood pressure, and it has gone up 10%, is that not good.

If you have only been monitoring for a fortnight, it could be your first reading was lower than normal, and it has now returned to where it should be.
Perhaps celebrate it as a sign that the jab is having an effect on you.

Gromit - I always thought my historic readings were on the high side already!

Corbyloon - No, the first time I have experienced such an increase. But hopefully, it'll drop down in a day or so.

Hopkirk - always the optimist!
