Sorry for putting this in news but I think this needs to put out there, would Tesco rename other religious festivals from other minorities, instead of happy Ramadan, how about happy starving.

Tesco is in the business of making money and will cast its net as widely as possibly. So am I and I certainly don't look to a supermarket for my Christian messages, even though their site and stores are awash with the word Christmas.

Therefore I simply cannot see what folk are upset about.
still awash with Halloween around here, Mamya. But the Great Movies TV channel switched to Christmas films at the end of September, which I do think is a little premature.
as as mentioned to sell to as many as apossible, and it does not stop at tesco, watch tv adverts selling products lately, half the families or couples are interracial, funny i havent seen any women in burquas selling products or in a mixed race commercial advert yet? i wonder why mmm not to offend or would it offend to have a women in a burqua selling a product...strange.
My Asian and Muslim friends are more into Christmas than I am. I hate it.
Eid is a pain, when their shops shut.
I like Diwali, that is when I put my lights up.

Doubtless they will still have their decorated Christmas trees adorning the entrances to their stores, along with all the baubles dangling above the aisles and checkouts and the tempting Christmas offers. That said, let us never concede to complacency. Our culture and lifestyle beats any alternative and is well worth defending and preserving. Merry Christmas all.
Well said naomi, and a Happy Christmas to you.

\\I'm not playing your silly games, try posting a thread in R&S about your Christian beliefs and see what some of the replies are like (ps that's why I don't start threads in there), yet Tesco mention 'Gifting Season' and there's an outcry?//

Silly games, ? then don't bother replying if you are going to have a huff, stick to your night night thread.
Thanks for BA, webbo.
I had asparagus for my tea last night.
Eid is celebrated by muslims, diwali by hindus,no other religion tries
to hide it's festivals,so why should christians?
I had my first "If I don't see you before Christmas, have a good one" this evening. That's the earliest yet.
I shall look in vain for acknowlegment of a bit Yule and the festival that proceeded the Christian festival. Nearest thing will be a chocolate log!
