I am working on an Excel spreadsheet, and I keep getting a message telling me that some formulas may be affecting it.

I have not conciously added any formulas, so how can I take off any formulas that are involved, if I don;t know what they are?

Is there a way of 're-setting' it back to the basic spreadsheet i started out with please?

There is the option to display cells with formulas and this link should help.
