i have a little mother of pearl purse and the first troll my gran bought me .also kept all cards we received when we married ,all cards my children and grandchildren made us .i kept all the letters mr mally wrote to me when in the navy but threw them away when we downsized .
I kept a lot of Mum's stuff when she passed. Apart from all her photo albums, I kept a scrap book she had made containing lovely verses, some she wrote herself or some copied from magazines, all very moving and loving. I don't look at it too often because I shed bucketloads of tears every time I do, especially now she's gone. It has loads of memories in it. I also have on display a lovely little colourful ceramic church which she bought once when she was abroad and she wrote the place and time on the bottom of it, so I knew it was special to her. It's special to me now. I also have a newspaper cutting with a picture of an abused lioness's face who was rescued from a cruel owner from many, many years ago. It made big news back then because of her abuse and when she was rescued it was hoped she could live a good life, but such was her abuse that she died very soon after. I remember me and Mum being absolutely devastated over that. I haven't looked at the cutting for a long time, but I can still see her sad face in my mind's eye. Not much has changed re. animal abuse sadly.
