I have a voucher with a Bar Code that I want to use, but I don’t have a printer. When I use it, will the shop be able to scan the bar code from my phone? Thanks all

I was recently given a Tesco gift card via WhatsApp which could only be used in store. Like yourself I wasn't sure about it and so took it to Tesco customer services where the woman scanned the barcode and said it was fine to use at the till but not the self-service till.
What is the shop and who issued the voucher?
If it is a supermarket's own voucher then yes, they will be able to scan it from your phone. If it is issued by a different company then a supermarket will probably be able to scan it.

If you are trying to redeem it at your local corner shop, I don't know, but probably.

If it is of real value you could always go to your local library and print it off for around 10p

It is a voucher from the Daily Mail, for a free two day National Trust pass, which they emailed to me.
That should be no problem as the NT use scanners for my membership card every time I visit.
You could call them on 0344 800 1895 or email [email protected]
to be sure before you travel
