An innovative (and possibly brilliant) bit of analysis and research may have finally produced the "Smoking Gun" to prove that China has been lying through its oriental teeth about the origin (and timing of that origin) of Covid :

Of course, "correlation does not imply causation" or more strictly in this case "buying more testing equipment doesn't mean you have an outbreak" - but it all has the ring of a very plausible truth.

A very interesting article Dave
Nothing will ever be done. Evidence, if there was any, will have been cleaned up months ago.
if it wags its tail and barks like a dog then it is a dog

this is a dog - the nub is that the Chinese bought a lot of PCR machines in summer 2019 and that MUST mean that there was a lot of covid about, killing silently

if it smells like a dog ....

A more plausible story is: the Wuhan institute did not have a virus escape as there were no deaths associated at that time. Mme Wu's was not a way-station on the way to the Fish market because there were no deaths. The virus started in the Fish Market as the doctor blew the whistle and got pubished for it - and then died from the disease, along with a few others. Before that no one had died
conclusion: it started in the FIsh Market
The World Military Games in Wuhan has long been known as a significant factor in the emergence and spread of covid.

// Notable contracts found by the investigators included £35,000 (€41,000) spent in early November by the Wuhan institute of Virology on PCR instrumentation //

When cases started to emerge in November, they initially thought it was SARS, so a big contract for PCR then is not that surprising.

That is not to say China did not try to suppress the disease and the emergence of it, they undoubtedly did.
But that doesn’t prove the lab escape theory or that China knew in the summer.
as soon as you get to the bit where there is a secret virus escape which is covered up of course ( else not secret see) and no trail of deaths - - you know it is ball-boing

if there is an uncontrolled secret escape people have to die inexplicably

[this is what I find so distressing about conspiracy theories over the Arena - if they are all ghosts and didnt occur then you have to find 22 extra bodies 5-15 which is one nights worth for the whole country...] ( and you cant collect them slowly cuz pathologists can tell )
BUT
according to the editor of the BMJ - there IS a bit of foo-foo going on

The work of a task force commissioned by the Lancet into the origins of covid-19 has folded after concerns about the conflicts of interest of one its members and his ties through a non-profit organisation to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Task force chair Jeffrey Sachs, economics professor at Columbia University in New York, told the Wall Street Journal that he had shut down the scientist led investigation into how the covid-19 pandemic started because of concerns about its links to the EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit organisation run by task force member Peter Daszak.1
carried in the times today 6th Oct - the chinese bought alorra PCR machines in the summer of 2019.
that 's it - no comment on it
