I know they are footballers but I read elsewhere that they consider themselves too fit to catch Covid
Do they not realise that it does not discriminate on age or health or gender ?
Bit ironic that the story breaks on the day Tom Daley reveals he caught Covid and was very ill as a result
The fact that they played in empty stadiums until recently does not appear to have registered with them !

//Most likely they consider the risk of a vaccine is higher than the risk of death from Covid. And they would be most likely to be correct.//

Simply wrong and irresponsible - unless the person has specific rare conditions/risk factors and a qualified medical person (not some unqualified poster on social media) tells you otherwise based on those circumstances
pixie374

Yes he did say that.
Which is why I copied and pasted it and put it in //quote//
Not quite true, bobbin. Some people don't have obvious "risk factors". Some do, but have been pushed into having it anyway. GPs can advise, yes- but it's no more responsible to push someone "into" having a vaccine, than talk them out of it.
I look after a 96 year old gentleman, who had the first one, as advised. And instead of getting 4 angina attacks a year, had 4, the first week after. They are still much more severe and frequent than they were before the jab- but obviously, he won't come into "statistics".
If you aren't a GP of a particular poster- stop giving medical advice, on what people should or shouldn't do.
It doesn't affect "others", so people need to decide and assess risks for themselves.
In some contacts, such as young, healthy, fit people...it is true, gromit. You seem to be ignoring context.
Pixie,

// //Most likely they consider the risk of a vaccine is higher than the risk of death from Covid. And they would be most likely to be correct.//

No.

// I look after a 96 year old gentleman, who had the first one, as advised. And instead of getting 4 angina attacks a year, had 4, the first week after. They are still much more severe and frequent than they were before the jab- but obviously, he won't come into "statistics". //

But you don’t know the angina attacks are connected to the jab.

// As the MHRA explains: “The nature of Yellow Card reporting means that reported events are not always proven side effects. Some events may have happened anyway, regardless of vaccination. //
We don't "know". For 40 years, he has had around 4 angina attacks a year. Covid jab, known for causing blood clots... he has had at least 4 a week since. And, quite sensibly, decided not to risk the second.
What would you have done, in his situation?
Pixie,
Angina isn’t going to get better in a 96 year old. And it got worse.
Did the medics decide the jab was the cause of their increased angina attacks (and reported it) or was it self diagnosed ?

I have angina, and happily had my jabs.
It was advised it was the most likely cause- due to the immediate severity and increase in frequency, so he chose not to. Not reported officially, just advised to him.
Pixie
Following the medical advice is the correct thing he should do.
And the 5 young footballers should also follow the medical advice, and get vaccinated.
They didn't 'advise' as they didn't know. They told him it was the likely cause and he decided himself.
No different here, give people accurate info, and let them decide.
Similar to how, I had an allergic reaction to the first. The GP, covid team, vaccinator... had no idea if I should have the second. They all tried to pass it on to someone else. I chose to in the end, and took piriton. But clearly, my risk and my decision.
I had a bad reaction to the first jab, but never hesitated to have the second.
Dying of covid unjabbed was never an option I considered.
Dying from a jab obviously wasn't, either. Good for you, you made your own choice. Let others do the same.
The Covid jab obviously destroys brain cells. The drivel these covid fascists spout is mind numbing.
Full Fact, gromit? Seriously, lol.
"I know they are footballers but I read elsewhere that they consider themselves too fit to catch Covid " - well this guy was much fitter than any footballer: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/aug/04/fit-and-healthy-man-42-from-southport-who-rejected-vaccine-dies-of-covid
-- answer removed --
Got to laugh when someone rejects a fact check, but does not give an alternate. Not even an attempt to disagree with the fact check, just a bury their head in the sand response.
Lol,
//WHAT WAS CLAIMED
Official data shows twice as many people have died due to the Covid-19 vaccines in six months than people who have died of Covid-19 in 15 months.//

You know who claimed that, gromit?
That's right,,,,,,nobody.
You are a case in point, you had an independent brain that actually worked once in a while before you had your Covid shots.
Got to laugh when a 94-year-old's experience is trotted out as a reason England Footballers shouldn't be vaccinated.

I know they play like a load of geriatrics at times but . . . . . (cont p94)

//The others are said //

Ah, so hearsay.

//they consider themselves too fit to catch Covid//

And where did you read that? More hearsay?

No youngmafbog
It is widely available on the internet:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10056403/amp/England-players-refusing-Covid-vaccines-face-mounting-pressure-jab-FIFA-issues-statement.html

It was reported over the weekend that the footballers have given a string of 'nonsense' reasons for not having the jab.

One said he was too 'young and fit', another believes it is a tool for government's to spy on people, and others are said to have been pressured against having it by their anti-vaxxer Wags.

You are welcome youngmafbog
