when we are going to get subtitles back on the TV?
If I can't have subtitles, I have to wear headphones which are not comfy if you are having to wear them for such a long time.

They should be available. Perhaps you have accidentally switched them off on your TV.
I just them on, on my Freeview TV and they are working fine.

Haven't watched TV today, but watched Rocketman film last night and there were no subtitles.
I haven't turned them off.

I think some channels are working & some aren't.
HOPKIRK, it's not the settings, its the result if an incident last Saturday at a Red Bee Media Broadcast Centre.

A fire alarm went off and the action taken affected transmission on several channels and subtitles continue to be absent on some of them still.

Thanks Corby.
I should have said I can get subtitles on some of the channels, but definitely not C4 or C5 and possibly other channels.
Just wondered if anyone had heard when we will be getting them back, it seems a long time for them to be sorting it out.
Nobody knows when things will get back to normal. Lots of programmes on C4 and C5 have been affected in different ways - as well as loss of subtitles, the usual background music has changed and is way too loud, drowning at the narration. Adverts are chopped off after just starting or freezing until the programme starts again.

Also some programmes that are usually available on catch up are missing - annoying one is one missing episode from a series.

barry, obviously we don't know what they need to do to get things right again, but you would think that after a week of them working flat out to put things right, that everything would be sorted by now.
Obviously it is more difficult for deaf or very hard of hearing people.

I know it is hard for people who rely on subtitles. Take consolation from the fact that most of those programmes seem to be repeated endlessly and hopefully will be complete with subtitles
yes, I was settling downn with Rocketman today, and no subtitles. I should have watched it when it was on Sky.

Yes still no subtitles on C4 and C5 here, I really do rely on them, even with hearing aid in. Hope they hurry up and fix this.
Thank you for this information. I was beginning to think it was problems with my tv or Humax box. I find I can’t watch programmes without subtitles these days either Barsel, more so if it’s an American programme.

Watching the repeats of 'Broken' on the Drama channel tonight.
No subtitles so put the headphones on and still had problems with Sean Beans Yorkshire accent and the story was about an Irish woman who I had difficulty understanding and it also starred Adrian Dunbar!
Still, I got the gist of it.
