Smow - my family come on Boxing Day and I always do a buffet. It's so much easier. One adores prawns, another hates them, one is allergic to chicken another is gluten intolerant etc., etc.. By far the best and each gets what they want.

Lottie, Barrel? Not the first time I've been called that, and a few think I am a male!

When my 3 daughters were young and my Mum was still living, I used to love everything to do with Christmas.
Now the girls are all married, Mum died and hubby moved a long way away which leaves me on my own.
Christmas now is very different for me.
Just don't feel the excitement anymore.

When we did do Christmas, we always had Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve and the tree went up just a few days before. We all had a Christmas Eve present on the table. Then Christmas day was spent opening presents and playing with them, and having sandwiches and buffet food. Much more fun!
