...this is just this afternoon...a period of 2-3 hours for the charity Toby came from
Collected 2 barely 3 week old kittens that had been dumped in box...underweight and covered in fleas.
Cleaned, de-fleaed, removed a tick, bottle fed them, toileted them with baby wipes, wrapped them up warm and put them cosied up together next to heated soft toys. They will need bottle feeding every 2 hours.
Received an elderly female cat that was stuck in the middle of the road...owner contacted and surrendered her to their care...scrawny and flea ridden with a bad leg. Vets tomorrow.
Took in a dying cat that was found wrapped in a bin liner and dumped by bins to emergency vets. Not much hope though.
Found temporary foster for a recently adopted cat that was returned due to family illness.
And, finally...reunited a missing cat with his owners.
Sometimes it's horrific to think of what some people do to animals and how they are seen as expendable.
Thankfully, most will get the treatment they need and go to good homes ♡♡

So you think that Toby would be okay with you hand-rearing two kittens? Ask him nicely. ☺

many of the charities also feed colonies of feral cats and arrange for them to be neutered. If at all possible they will rehome some of them as farm cats.

Several such agencies post videos on Facebook showing examples of rescued dogs being weaned off their understandable fear of further human abuse - it's really heart-warming to see the slow recovery into a safe and sound home/relationship.

I sometimes think I shouldn't look at these. But I know it's balanced out by so many success stories...some cats go from sad and abused to content and trusting in a matter of days.

Wolf...only if Toby does the feeding. I don't think I'd manage the sleepless nights.

An update... the poor dumped cat didn't make it.
And...there are 3 more kittens on the way...siblings of the first 2. Round the clock bottle feeding.
Kittens are the most adorable babies, but ... they are hyperactive demons once they start moving around. They would have scared poor Toby.

Canary, some of the videos are amazing. I saw one ages ago where a baby Elephant fell down a hole. The herd were waiting around, shouting encouragement at the poor guys trying to dig junior out. It was heart warming.
It's awful how people behave sometimes, towards animals. Thankfully, these charities do amazing work though. I saw that one too, wolf :-)
