I only use it to complain to companies - get much better results that way than by email or phone nine times out of ten
Are there any pros?

I don't know, hopkirk. I'm hoping that someone who uses Twitter will come along and tell me how it works and whether or not it's worth joining. I know some here post links to it so they must use it.
You get to discuss world events as they happen and usually a day or two before Answerbank find out what's going on.
Pros some news there but nothing you couldnt find anywhere else the cons are its just a opinion platform hearing the dribble people have to spout only thing its good for is live news updates so it depends who you follow if you think anyone is worthy of being followed
I use it for sport updates.

I’d use it to send info to followers as well.

I avoid the usual pitfalls by not shouting my mouth on it

Nothing too terrible about it then. Many thanks for replying.
It's the most anti-social of the main social media platforms.
Whenever I spend any time on Twitter, my thoughts are drawn to this bit of the bard ...

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
A real pro about Twitter is the ability to block/mute people you want to ignore.
Pros are that it’s pretty much the quickest way to get news, information and entertainment, some very interesting niche accounts for just about everything, I like modern art, archaeology and business and follow some great accounts posting those as well as correspondents news channels and publications. It’s also easy to manage muting or blocking of people when required.

Cons are that sensible debate is very difficult and very becomes polarised or uncivil. It’s unmoderated so everything gets said. Also it can quickly become an echo chamber for ones own thoughts of so important in my opinion to follow at least a couple of (bearable) people or publications one disagrees with to get a balanced feed.
I cannot imagine why anyone uses twitface etc, cesspits. I cannot see any uses that I would employ.
Pro: You can converse with the whole world.
Con: Almost everyone is more stupid than you.

It is an echo chamber. Post something really stupid and millions of people will agree with you.
you're absolutely right, Gromit!
^ There's one . . . or is this two now?

Another pro is that people on Twitter watch GB news so I don't have to.

I will never darken the doors of Sheffield City Hall again.
