Ive recently taking up lock picking as a hobby, not to be confused with lock smithing.
I must say it is fascinating. I came across it one day on youtube and now I'm well into it!! Whilst it may be considered by some to be a sport, I'm not sure it will ever become an Olympic event lol

I buy old locks on eBay, you can get them really cheap without keys. I can now open most padlocks and most front or rear doors and patio door locks without too much trouble.
Yes, he scared me how easily he picked my back and front doors.
Have you seen the videos from the LockPickingLawyer?

He demonstrates the weaknesses in all sorts of locks and uses various techniques and bits of kit.

He was able to pick the lock on one device with a bit twig from his garden, I kid you not.

lol, The LockPicking Lawyer has almost God like status among lock pickers, he also won a world championship. He amazes me with how easy he makes these very complex locks look to pick.
