On my last our of Ulster in the late 70s, i needed to lose some weight so, together with the M.O., a diet plan was worked out for me, combined with regular exercise in the regimental gym. I dutifully stuck to the diet and exercise regime almost religiously except for the fact that each day after tea, i would hide self in the dark room and slowly much my way through a Fry's Turkish Delight. I did manage to lose just over 2 stone but i often wonder how much more it may have been but for my weakness :-)
