Plug a different handset ito the socket if the crackle persists report it as a fault.

I should have said "master socket"; that eliminates a problem with your handset and the wiring inside your house, both of which you are responsible for.

Make sure you’re not wearing thick rubber soles sometimes if i wear specific shoes and pick up my phone / controller with bead set for gaming it can give me lots of static feedback

Turn the heat up on the oven and make sure the skin is well-salted before starting - but then on a phone this maybe not such a good idea.

If you have fibre broadband you won't have a filter; they are used to separate the telephone and broadband when you have "twisted pair" broadband.

Well i unplugged everything from the wall left for 15 minutes rang cousin and niece and first time in a long time. No crackling hope it stays that way
