OK, the icon says Google, there is no jigsaw, blob, or grey bit anywhere, at the top on the right is a small shield icon, a download arrow, 9 dots in a square, a small red icon with ABP in it, a black spot with letter S in it and the 3 line hamburger sign, thats it.
Click the 3 lines
Go down to more tools
Click extensions
Look at what you've got and if Cartageous is there remove it.
By the way Mamya's link is very good for telling you what Browser you are using.

Sorry to be a pain, butI have tried all of your suggestions but I cannot find Cartageous anywhere, so looks like I'm stuck with it.
Have you clicked on Mamya's link to find out exactly what browser you are using, Peter? That would be a good start
There are many different Browsers.
Firefox, Edge, Explorer, Chrome, Safari etc.

On any of those Browsers you can run a search engine of your choice. Besides Google there is Bing, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia etc.

Whatever your browser, in the preferences setting you can select which search engine to use.
do you not have 3 vertical dots to the right of the address bar???
Or right click on window's icon in bottom left then select setting's. Pick relevant option then - may be apps -and look for your browser
or just search your computer for Cartageous and delete it.
Sound's like something that would take second's if someone could access your screen for you

I have finally managed to get rid of it, all I did was delete the desk top icon and then installed Chrome, it is now back to what i'm used too.
I really am useless with technology and I thank you all for your help.
Glad you solved it.
