I want to buy a wardrobe from IKEA, but it seems you have to buy bits and cobble it together, ie; buy a shell, buy doors, shelves, drawers etc etc, i've got measurements of what i want and wondered if a staff member would help me with the project, any ideas on this?

I don't get it. You want the staff member to put ittogether for u? You want the staff member to know what you want in your wardrobe in the way of drawers mirrors rails etc?
One of the reasons IKEA is so cheap is because the customer does the time consuming stuff themselves.
Ps. IKEA sell loads of wardrobes with doors
In other words, they're giving you the flexibility to have a wardrobe with shelves or all hanging space, perhaps plain doors or mirror doors etc. You decide exactly what fitments you want and only buy those.
Looking on the web site it seems you have two options. Chose a wardrobe already "designed" presumably it comes flat packed, or design it yourself from the catalogue or in store
IKEA will quote you for assembly:
