TTT,
asymptomatic spreaders have been the focus of a *great deal* of governmental and media attention/panic for almost a year and a half. ( branded 'superspreaders')
I am wondering why, if there is no evidence beyond guesswork.
Can you prove that 7op?
You don't understand the difference between guesswork and science
Enjoyed that, Tora. :-)
I doubt there is "guesswork" involved, more like using various models to see how closely the results reflect the real-world situation.

I guess so... ;) shorturl.at/lqCRU

"You don't understand the difference between guesswork and science"

Fact and stochastic modelling are different.
so you are an anti vaxer then, right oh!
Question Author
"so you are an anti vaxer then, right oh!"

Where is your evidence for that ?
Question Author
well you're looking for approval by dismissing anything that is counter to your predefined belief. This is a very similar approach to theland when he disguises his religious sermons as a genuine science question. We play along at first but we know what's happening. You shoot down any attempt to demonstrate that asymptomatic infectees can spread the virus so you can justify your anti vax stand to yourself and others. Busted!

My question was looking for evidence.

"You shoot down any attempt to demonstrate that asymptomatic infectees can spread the virus so you can justify your anti vax stand to yourself and others. Busted!"

What "anti vax stand" ?
//At least ive learned newjudge has never been on a bus or crowded train or tube at 7am where coughing and sneezing from commuters are not unusual or at 11pm where strangers shouting and forgetting social distancing are often seen.//

You haven't learned very well, bob. I've spent 35 years commuting from Kent into London and then across London by tube and/or bus to arrive at my office before 8am. I then did the same in reverse to get home (sometimes on the late night "drinkers' special"). There isn't much you can tell me about commuting on crowded transport. The last time I travelled to London was about two weeks ago. I expected to have a carriage to myself (as the media reports led me to believe). I didn't get a seat until the train arrived at London Bridge. But I can say in all that time I cannot recall anybody sneezing or coughing in my face.
where are we with this

PP: "and serial testing, you can show someone becomes contagious 24-48 h before developing signs " Is that 'asymptomatic' signs Peter ?

symptoms - I feel crap = what pt feels/reports
sign - what doccy nursey elicit - here a positive test

erm this distincition has been around for - er 150y

The idea of asymptomatic spreaders has been around for 350 y - Daneil Defoe noticing plague of 1666 MUST be spread by the asyptomaitc and not those nailed up in houses

so once again - not "does it occur" (yes that is, even to an ABer)
but 'what is the contribution to the current pandemic?@

Oh and for the thinker askinng why the Ro seems to have passed beyond - useful for the inital upswing of the first wave

fr'instance wivvan Ro of 1.4 at the start, when 50 % are immune then it is gonna be 0.7 ( same virus, difft population)

Sqad response - if a test is =ve the chance of having covid on you is in excess of 95% - Lat Flow is so highly concordant with PCR that it is not really worth confiirming one with the other

Are there any other points arising
aymptomatic spreaders

I am wondering why, if there is no evidence beyond guesswork.

there is evidence - re read this thread with your glasses on

You digga digga digga people 's throats who are not ill
and you find virus
and then most of them get ill within 48 h
and then most of them get better within a week or so
and then if they are over 70% a lot fo them die

where have you been for the last 2 years ?
I too am bemused by bobbinwales coughing and sneezing comments, but then I am often bemused by the claptrap he spouts ! Never once have I been coughed and sneezed on and epsecially in supermarkets - does he make it up as he goes along I wonder ??
I am not bemused by Bobbinwales
I have been coughed over ....
( spat at - peed on - vomited over ( aged 10 -) awful - oh and bird poo scored a hit - ti is meant to be lucky)
Question Author
'two people separated by a comic (sic) language' eh PP.

This thread is about the evidence of asymptomatic *CoV 19* spreaders (super spreaders some said), not about whether asymptomatic virus spread is possible.

You do understand the difference between asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic before you ejaculate ?
In that graph of confirmed cases per 100,000, how many tests per 100,000 were carried out for those same countries?

If they're not carrying out many tests, they'll not find many positives, will they?
I haven't been on public transport much over the last year. But when I have been - yes, there have been people coughing (just as there are in times of health and plenty), and some of them without masks. Not everybody, but one or two per trip.

I don't think I've heard any sneezing, but enough coughing to back up bobb's experience.
I hear people coughing too on the very odd occasion, but they are NOT coughing all over me, that's the difference ! Like I said, he talks claptrap.
