I must learn the finer points of dressage to really appreciate it.
I used to find cycling boring until I learned a bit about tactics etc, and now I'm a great fan. The Giro, Vuelta and Tour De France to name but three.
Dressage is one of the few things I do love to watch. I'd bet that anyone who dismisses it has never sat on a horse - every movement is controlled by the subtlest of shift in rider's seat, hands and legs.

I get that. But still can't appreciate it .... yet.
I enjoyed the little bit I saw. It's impossible to see the rider giving the horse instructions. I was impressed when the two German ladies went 'one handed' towards the end of their routines.
Surely the Love Island thingy hasn't finished or the snooker or darts, I'm sure you can all find something simpler to watch!
One of the German ladies also gives dressage exhibitions riding side saddle. That is impressive
