So we had flooding a couple of weeks ago, heatwave last week and now more flooding. Do you think this is to do with climate change or other factors?

Obviously the flooding in the UK is nothing compared to the devastation on the continent.

You need to read James Ellroy ;-)
This question asked specifically about flooding in London. Not Germany, not India. Flooding from storms as seen in London last week has occurred for as long as I can remember.
// This question asked specifically about flooding in London. //

No it didn't. Read the OP.
Still in denial about what's happening on a larger scale than your pathetic little sewers ?

Flooding in London has been a problem since it was first established by the Romans, we didn't have global warming then. AZardoz, referring to the sewer system as pathetic and small is just showing your ignorance.
Good one ! Blame the Romans !

Your little island will sink into the muck.
The EU must be glad to be rid of you lot.
^ WOW !
Your OTT approach will do nothing to persuade people that climate change is an issue, your more likeley going to put them off Ardoz which is a shame
We seem to have another gulliver in our midst, decrying this country from afar.
Nothing will convince them. Their little minds are set in stone.

Oh, well. Not my problem. I just get tired of the silly nattering.
I get cognitative dissonance thankyou AZ ardoz but it works both ways and some climate zealots display it too,. When I queried your first refrence to it it was the 'out the yingyang' bit that was unintelligabale to me
//decrying this country from afar. //

Hardly. Just read your own media, or other threads.

// out the yingyang // - another term for OTT.
Oh dear : best ignored i think.

Anyway, it isn’t only the UK set for problems due to climate change.
// best ignored i think. // Of course, the best course of (non)action.

Yeah, it's the fault of the Romans.
This site can be quite the comedy show.
I meant that your comments are best ignored.
It's a shame you can't put a good case without being unbelievably rude.

Er..the title “Flooding in London and the surrounding areas”. By my interpretation “the surrounding areas” of London do not stretch as far as Germany. I didn’t mention sewers. The flooding seen last week has nothing to do with the sewerage system. It came about because of road design, the inadequacy of the drainage system to get the rainwater to the sewers (which are perfectly adequate for dealing with heavy rainfall) and the lack of maintenance of those drains.

//Yeah, it's the fault of the Romans.//

Nobody said that either. It was said that London has flooded since Roman times. Nobody blamed the Romans. It was just a timeframe reference. You really need to get a grip.

//I just get tired of the silly nattering.//

Well that’s a result. I suppose some good has come of the question.
You could always climb the new hill in Marble Arch Judge ... if it starts spitting again.
Not with my knees, Togo, not with my knees!

I saw a picture of that in the paper yesterday. Did they run out of skips when they were digging the Crossrail tunnels?

I heard it was due to immigration. Takes all sorts, I suppose.
Can I take it the London 'Super' sewer hasn't opened yet?
If not, might that help when it does?

A Z. If there is such a thing as Man Made Global Warming (doubtful, imo) there's not much you or I can do about it. Take a chill pill. ;-)
