Can you think of anything that can legally be advertised but not supplied as described?

I can think of only one - electricity. I see many electricity suppliers advertising '100% renewable energy'. If you sign up with that supplier there is no guarantee that you will 100% renewable (or sustainable)' energy - you get the same electricity no matter who you pay

Renewable and sustainable refer to how the electricity is produced e.g wind farms.
Dishwasher tablets.

Yes, I know that, danny :)

How are your dishwasher tablets not as described? I suppose they clean the dishes but not the dishwasher
They advertise them like things don't need rinsing. The tablet will do the job. Utter rubbish. All you'll do is clog up the dishwasher and they don't come out clean.

I rinse everything before i load the dishwasher.

Question Author
I don't rinse and have no problems - my machine is probably 15 years old :) And everything comes out clean.
Never rinse anything before putting it in dishwasher unless it's something like a spag bol saucepan with a quarter stuck to the sides.
I agree with Ummmm about the dishwasher tablets.
I have to take a very large glass of water to get mine down.

And I still have to load the damn machine ;o(

The contents of any Political Manifesto.
So if you make something like a lasagne you wouldn't rinse the tray it was backed in?
Back to the OP, what exactly are you getting at?

The way these companies work is to 'buy' electricity from the renewable sources. Now of course the actual electricity you use may not have come from there but an equivalent amount has been bought and someone will use it so it all balances.

Question Author
young, my post is firmly 'tongue in cheek' this time. :) But it is true that I pay for renewable energy but probably don't get it
Question Author
Not even for something like a lasagne tray. My family likes to eat the 'crusty bits' so nothing gets left stuck to the tray
I do same as ummmm
On the subject of dishwasher tablets, I think the Fairy one is very misleading. Looks as if the lasagne dish comes out sparkling clean. However, if you read the small print at the bottom of the advert it says after 3/4 washes. Who has time to faff around like that.
Ooh that’s a bit naughty Maggie - after 3 - 4=washes!!
It's false advertising on TV. I can't read small print!!
I don’t get why you would even put dishes in dishwasher caked in food - surely it would clog it up!
I always quickly rinse under tap.
