I have above in bedroom - however a little bit has chipped leaving a dark hole. I certainly don't want to lift the whole floor as I also have matching skirting board.

I'm looking to "block" the hole and was thinking of "paint" - or is there anything else I should look for. thanks for any replies.

thanks bednobs for your post - really appreciate it.
personally, i'd lower my standards, realise that only me and my husband would see it (and it'd probably be covered in dirty washing half the time) and ignore it. if i couldnt do that i'd get a rug :)

I have been using a rug but it's getting on my nerves now. I'll give the filler a go. I'm of to Homebase as they sell the tubs too. thanks again
use an Araldite type adhesive and ad some paint colouring to match the floor and apply it carefully. The, when it is nearly cured, scrape it level with a chisel or similar and you will have an invisible repair.
