I have the edges eaten plus holes in the leaf of my runner bean plants. 2. Have failed because of this. I got another 2 growing to replace them. These are also going the same way. Edges and holes. I’ve checked the leaves, can’t see any caterpillars or beetles or anything. Other bean plants doing well. Just these 2. TIA.

Could be slugs, feasting after a wet spell.
You might try some spent coffee grounds sprinkled around the plants.
Slugs hate caffeine.
I was going to suggest slugs too. I have had a really serious problem with them eating my plants. I have resorted to putting slug pellets out in the evening just as it goes dark, but sweeping any away early morning (not many left) as I don't want my dog or the wild birds to ingest any. It's been a damn nuisance.

It doesn’t look like slug damage. No trails etc.
Possibly pigeons?
Pigeons are a likely culprit, I agree. Wood pigeons have been pecking holes in my kale lately.
So many pests that make holes, beetles are another.
