South Oriented Or North Oriented , Or Dont You Really Care?

As most of you know i live in Spain. So when buying or renting property in Spain this seems to be the 1st priority. Well guys, ladies +gents over to you.

Beach oriented for me.

A garden or terrace that gets the sun for most of the day. South orientated would be my choice.

I’ve always fancied one of the cave dwellings. Perfect! Not sure where they are though.

Going north would mean you’d avoid most of the drunk and sun-roasted Brits.

They have to be volcanic - or else you learn quig why people dont lives in caves now

I’d say that as people are generally going on holiday for better weather, then they’d prefer South facing. I certainly would (as long as the property had AC).

I have a house in Spain - south facing but with plenty of shade. There are quite a lot of cave houses dotted around the southern areas of Spain - and people do live in them. Some of them sell for considerable sums.

It’s never been our first priority, in fact it’s never been a consideration when we’ve rented somewhere abroad.
In very hot places, air con, a pool, and proximity to somewhere to go and have a meal out have been things we’ve looked for.

Why not east or west facing? Lots of light without heavy duty baking.

i have a south facing garden, but it really wasnt the main (or even minor) consideration when deciding t buy. We bought this place when there was difficulty in buying due to lack of houses so if i'd have fannied about about orientation, i'd still be in the old house
