Called up to see one friend and whilst we were outside I had to "immediately go to toilet number 2 - I've had this before and so had to leave friend and go home and deal with myself in my own home

Had one shower and fresh clothes and went back to number one friend - sat with with her for about 10 minutes apologising for leaving so quickly.

Left her and literally drove about 5 seconds in car and talked to another friend in her garden when exact same situation happened. Had to leave and have 2nd shower. I' had an earlier shower because Maxie was getting groomed.

I have had these sessions before but not so quick. Do you think this is bad. Am pretty worried.

Luckily enough I took some Imodium. I am so nervous to eat that I haven't really ate from Sunday.

PS - I get absolutely no urge "oh I need to go" - just floods - sorry for TMI.
Would you say that you were anxious about the visits?

That could be a possibility or it may be IBS.

Any pain?
No signals and it just leaves you?

Worth a chat with Dr or Nurse.
that seems sufficiently out of the ordinary to consult someone, if your GP is seeing patients these days.

that's right Mamy - no signals - like I've had them before - incredible - no urges that you have to go and of course you don't imagine they are so explosive pardon the pun.

i have spoken to sister about them before and she'll - Ach take an oul imodium - sorry it's too late - it's out it's out. TMI here - it is actually so bad - goes down right down the leggings and into sandals or shoes - and it is so incredible. I do try my best to stop. After my show today - I went out to car and scrubbed car seat. Worried sick.

After my shower - thats what I meant - sure doctors have no time for you now.
Jj. This is very distressing for you I’m sure. I think it’s important to seek medical opinion. It may well not be as serious as you imagine. I wonder if it is related to anxiety ?
You should definitely get checked out by your GP, Jennyjoan, but this page suggests some possible causes for your problem:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bowel-incontinence/

Pelvic floor exercises might possibly help. See the video here:

Keep a check on how much fluid you're drinking. I had some similar problems recently (as a result of side effects from radiotherapy) and realised that part of the reason I needed to go to the loo so often (for both 'standing' and 'seated' functions, as we guys see it) was that I was drinking far more than the recommended two litres of fluid per day. (I was probably drinking closer to five litres). Cutting back my fluid intake, to closer to two litres, has helped a great deal, both 'at the front' and 'at the back'.
Yes, you must see your GP to try and find out why this is happening to you. Immodium and the like is great for occasional bouts of diarrhoea which you get because you've eaten something you shouldn't but it is not normal to get diarrhoea regularly.
Find out what's causing it then you can the proper treatment.
I am the same JJ, and have been taking Loperamide for ages, i have been referred to see the bowel and bladder clinic, i often dread going out if i can't be near a toilet. I totally sympathise. see your GP and see what they can advise. I have a form of IBS, and have had it for 3 and a half years.
Until you get sorted out try Tena ladies super. Here we can get them in packs of 30. They are a bit pricy and I know they are designed for urine but they can absorb liquid. They also make an adult nappy that you could use when you go out. Don't get the extra large they are huge. Good luck
I had a similar problem and I was later diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Please get it checked out asap.

thanks for the answers - I was diagnosed many years with Diverticulis - so perhaps it has got worse.

Imodium has helped yesterday so I'll wait until I get any more bouts. They are very embarrassing.
I hope you are eating properly with consideration of your diverticulitis. If you have a temperature, have stomach pains or feel ill it could be that you have an infection or inflammation of the divurticula which could lead to frequent bouts of diarrhoea.
