I got conned into being the Bingo caller at my local village hall, a while ago in the UK.
I was the only person who could work the elderly PA system and once I coaxed it into life the committee decided that I might as well call the numbers too.
My goodness it's boring - worse even than playing the game.

When I was about 19 and my brother, Andrew, about 15 we went on holiday together. We went to Pontins at Camber Sands.
We didn't fancy the entertainment on offer at nighttime - until Andrew found out that there was a cash prize on the Bingo. We didn't win anything but it was entertaining. I didn't realise just how seriously some old ladies take Bingo. I was half expecting them to start brawling in the hall.
