Either side of an ad break, just before ITV's The Chase starts, there's a little "Let's hear it for the..." then there's a rush of voices and music and I can't quite make out what is said, so who do we "Let's hear it for the..."? Ta Muchly and Take Care All!

There's a trailer I've seen during ad breaks, probably on Dave, that goes "Let's hear it for the great Will Smith", with Will Smith appearing to a group of adoring fans.

Thanks for that Etch, I'll listen more closely today wehn The Chase is on and see what I hear - or rather, hear what I hear - or even hear what I see...well, it wouldn't be me if I weren't daft, eh...as many would testify!
Maybe put the subtitles on?
There are no subtitles on it.

I've seen it when I watch The Chase on Challenge. I think Etch is on the right lines but it sounds to me like the announcer is saying, 'Let's hear it for the......[perhaps great Will Smith?]' before Will Smith appears and says, 'Welcome, welcome'.
Question Author
OK CJ, even more to listen for, but I seem to remember the 'welcome' bit, but it's gettin' more exciting than the programme itself!
Wouldn't go that far woodelf! :-D
Ah, yes, it'll be Challenge that I've seen it on when watching old episodes of The Chase. I think the actual words are "Let's hear it for the great Mister Will Smith".
Would it be lets hear it for the boy.
Question Author
Sorry CJ, I must have been thinking of Pointless and the absolute pointless SISI host, if you can call him that - thereby stirring a hornets' nest!
I managed to capture it by recording part of The Chase on Challenge this afternoon. The words are "Let's hear it for the brilliant Mister Will Smith".
Well done Etch.

Side note: this announcer's voice reminds me of that of the Come Dine with Me chap, Dave Lamb. Don't know if it is him.
Question Author
I'm sorry Etch but, even as I type this, I am listy to my own "recording" of the ad bit and it sounds more like a "or" or "doors" word(s) after "brilliant", rather than Will Smith etc, etc, but then I was only using a dictaphone - but hey-ho, it's only an ad!
