I called to my local post office to ask her about me lodging more money in. No problem.

This lady has done business before and was able to phone the main office on my behalf. Last time I was able to give the other person my permission for the lady in question to deal with my business.

My main thing is at the moment - when I got the bumph from Post office last September they never sent me a "pass card" and I was unaware of this so that's why the girl was ringing.

However she got a very rude man on the other side and wouldn't deal her or me with re Data Protection Act.

I am now on computer trying to find an email address to Post Office - but to no avail. It keeps saying ring but I cannot hear them. Also they are (according to the girl) looking for my security code - which I don't know where that is. I don't even know where to look.

Can anybody help. Felt sorry for the girl.

Lodging more money into what?
what sort of account is it?
Question Author
savings account - tried to get through on a number but the man was horrific - I had to give up.

I then contacted the post office girl and told her - she said that in the bumph last September when I applied initially I should have received a book for me to lodge any more money in.

They are talking about a "paying in book" Do you still have all the stuff they gave you it might be there
If I'm understanding correctly you opened some type of Post Office savings account and never received a pass book. What evidence do you have that you opened the account?
Question Author
everything but the pass book - since it was my first time joining a savings account in Post Office - I didn't know what to expect and so I thought I had all the necessary bumph.
Question Author
could anybody tell me what a passbook looks like
Were you given a receipt showing your initial deposit?
Question Author
yes recall that - I may have to look harder.
When I opened a savings account with the post office I was told everything was now done online perhaps it depends on the account
Are you sure you didn't receive a credit type card to use instead of a pass book
Question Author
I did receive a credit card type and I told that to the Post Office lady but she insisted I should have a book. Anyway thank God I have the card.
You need to tell us which type of account it is for us to help you.

The Post Office offers several types of account, some of them online only for which presumably you have to register online.
You might have to go in to the PO but with the card they should be able to find your details and issue a book. However I think you can deposit money using the card
Question Author
Yes I do think I can deposit the money with the card now that I have calmed down. It was just the lady insisted on the book as she could add "slips".

I will wait and see. At least I have the card. I do have all the Post Office bumph in a big see through envelope.

Thanks all for quick replies.
Did you show the lady at the Post Office your card?
