Me and my friend have just booked a long weekend in the Lakes next weekend (Friday to Monday) and we have found a lovely B & B that allows dogs and is close by to lovely walks. Really can't wait, I am SO looking forward to a change of scenery after all the many months of lockdown. Roll on next weekend !

Burly - it's great to be able to take the dogs, makes it a really happy time as I myself cannot be apart from Maxie.

One talks about dog separation - I'm afraid I have human separation. Can't bear leaving him too long.

DT - been to Kirkby Stephen several times whilst staying in a caravan nearby, lovely little place, also like Appleby, had a fabulous picnic there once ! It must be fabulous to live in areas like that.

The Peak District is also beautiful too.

I've found the best thing to carry with you in the UK, even if when you start out and the sun is blazing down, is a (good quality ) waterproof Poncho, easy to pack in a small bag, and very very light to carry, quick and easy to put on, and you don't poke peoples eyes out with an umbrella. Shake it once the storm is over and pack away.
