Ed Husain's book "Among the Mosques" will be released next week -
https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/among-the-mosques-9781526618658/

it's getting quite a bit of media coverage but all but one of the news reports is paywalled, so you'll need to search those out for yourself.

Is Mr Husain painting an accurate picture of Islam and diversity in parts of the UK? or is he being alarmist against sections of the islamic community with which he disagrees?

Over to abs muslim spokesperson. Im sure you all know who im referring to.
"Islam is the fastest growing faith community in Britain" - if that alone does not terrify you then nothing will. It's ok AH will save us!
^^^but is the because as a society those that traditionally referred to themselves as Christians and belonging to the CofE are becoming more secular?

I have no idea - it’s just a thought.

I was brought up following Rome, but knew from a fairly early age that religion, all religion, was utter cobblers and saw it for the absurdity it is so dismissed it out of hand.

I do not know anybody who has any religious affiliation.
notinggood about it, fascist militant that uses religion as a front for jihad..and i that, not the deisre to better oneselve but to murder non muslims, its a disgusting fervent killing machine wrapped up in religious dogma...vile
have you read it?

I haven't. If not, it's just a little difficult to make proper criticism, good or negative.
Who needs to read this muck to learn about TROP?
Their track record says enough.
^^ ^^
So true,well said.
I'll read it.
I’ve read a review which while noting the worrying aspects of the author’s research, does question whether it’s a wholly balanced view. Lots for example about Didsbury mosque and little if anything about mosques like Finsbury Park which are unrecognisable from their past incarnations.
And nothing about Moslems who don’t, actually go to mosques at all.
The review didn’t make me want to rush out and buy the book, but then that’s true of most reviews
If you did the same process and visited every christian church in the UK, what picture would you get ?
A very confused one. Every town and community is different. Trying to aggregate that to one coherent view would be impossible, and so is trying to amalgamate all mosques to one single view.
If you did the same process and visited every christian church in the UK, what picture would you get ?
