At a wedding the bride died of cardiac arrest. So while her body was put in an adjoining room, the ceremony still went ahead and the groom married her sister.

That sounds, quite literally, like Two Weddings and a Funeral

Whew. At my wedding my wife fainted, I nearly married my mother in law.
They obviously don't want the expense of the wedding to go to waste.
You've got to keep it in the family

love the one you're with?
If it was an arranged marriage it's likely they only met briefly anyway, so sad for the poor girl who died but I don't think the groom would be too affected.
In the UK the original function of the best man was to marry the bride if the groom didn't show, so not a lot different.
Good god you couldn’t make it up lol
It's a different culture.

Who are we to judge which culture is right and which is wrong?
Well at least times have changed for the better. Many many years ago it was a Hindu practise for the unfortunate widow to throw herself on her husbands funreal pyre!

Still, very sad about the young bride to be though :o(

I totally agree, which was why I tried to avoid criticising. But I find other cultures interesting nevertheless, which was why I posted.
Life is cheap, catering not so much.
