The sacrilegious bit is putting butter on hot toast.
Nooooo Tilly!
Sacrilege is letting the toast get cold. Who eats cardboard?
Ps...the ad made me giggle...
I used to know (via a friend) a guy who later joined Paul Young in the Q-Tips. "Toast" was Streetband's joke track, which came about when the band had some spare studio time and were just mucking about.

Saw Streetband several times. it was funny to see how many home counties yuppies would rock up to the gig expecting a convivial evening's amusement (like Toast), and then being dismayed to discover the band's regular output was actually hard blues......
The real crime here is not using Warbies Super Toastie - now that deserves a heavenly sound track.
am I bovvered?
Toast was Streetband's B side but Kenny Everett gave it a lot airplay and it was released again as the A side

I've got a really good toaster. But toast is far better cooked in the grill. Crunchy on the outside but still soft in the middle.

I agree with Tilly, I let my toast cool down before I butter it.
