Just checked my bank statement and for the last 6 months have been paying £15 / month to a company called...Complete Savings which allows discounts on many on-line companies.
Anybody use it?

Never heard of it. Is it a payment you think you didn't authorise or something you are recommending to us?
Looks like you've accidentally signed up to a (legal but expensive) cashback scheme, whilst buying something else online.

Well I know nothing about it and Mrs sqad is a suckered for these sort of deals.
No,i think it is pucker but she/me wants to know what it is all about.
I have phoned them, but without a membership number, they refuse to give details.
Possibly via Argos or Debenhams?

You've only just noticed - after six months ? Why don't you check your bank statement each month?
Have you or your wife checked for a confirmation e-mail from them at the time of joining?
Question Author
We didn't know we had signed up.
It was debited to a credit card which we never check.
It is not a scam......but dodgy lol
Thank you all.

Danny.....you know i have this obsession with web sites -;) anyway, I have phoned them and cancelled the subscription.
Sqad// cancelled the subscription//
Best thing to do.This type of discount is only worh it ifyou do quite lot of shopping at any of their associated businesses.
I found out I had joined through Argos. Cancelled it VERY quickly as I hadn't realised that I had to pay to belong.
I joined Complete Savings and tried to get the discount for a Boden order. It is such a faff, as you have to send them a receipt for the goods you've had but as it was ordered online, I didn't have a receipt.
I got irritated with it and cancelled my membership.
\prime does this alot
and is lookoed on as a legitimate practice

I go thro all bank statements on arrival

one clerk at a bank ( stopping a payment) said 'oh three days! that is really quite quick - we are used to seeing months and months'
somewhere in your shopping you have checked a little little box saying I consent to being absoltely screwed by Besos, Gates , Elon must, and a whole load more
/// and is looked on as a legitimate practice ///

That's the whole problem, the catch-out route is often very much highlighted and the normal signup-free route is very much under-represented. This is plainly an outrageous attempt to defraud, and the ASA (or whoever) need to take a much much tougher line.
