Hi, Tilly. I apologise for not giving you a best answer in Sept. 2018.

I have now remedied that!! And thank you. :-)
Perfect !!
Lovely name for your home.
Thank God this injustice has finally been rectified.
Question Author
Perfect indeed! It's a lovely name, thanks to Tilly. On slate and beautifully lettered.

By coincidence a friend has just asked called to ask where we got the name of our house sign made.
Got us talking about names of houses.
When we bought our falling down house in 1983 we didn't much like the name. Because of all the hard work we did to renovate it I wanted to call it NAKADUS COTTAGE.

MrG refused..... :-(
Whoo! Thank you. :-)
Question Author
You're welcome! :-)
A lovely expansion of your definition of the name, Gness:

It's indeed a lovely name, even though it might leave non-Irish speakers, seeking directions to your house, struggling to pronounce it ;-)

BTW: I only spotted the recent 'congratulations' thread a bit too late to add my own contribution (and hope that you'd still see it). So I'll offer my belated congratulations to you and Dave now.

You've got me worried though. If regularly corresponding by email with someone whom you first met on The Answerbank can result in you getting married a few years later, I think that Woodelf and I will have to name the big day soon ;-)

That's lovely, Chris, thank you. No worries about finding our house. Letters come to Big Dave and Wee Gness with just the name of the village and the postie brings them. My Sligo cousins added Newlyweds to the above which is how the village found out we were to marry.
Please can I be bridesmaid when you and Woodelf tie the knot? :-)
We can't agree on who gets to wear the dress, Gness ;-)
Question Author
I see nothing wrong with two matching meringues, Chris... :-)
