Even though I've disabled my adblocker for this site, I am still getting a pop up for The AnswerBank saying it looks like I'm using an ad blocker. Why?

How are you posting then if you are getting a message about disabling your ad blocker?
It may depend which browser? As some automatically block. Thankfully, no difference on phone yet.
With some browsers block tracking cookies by default, with sites that require adblockers to be disabled not recognising that the user has complied with that request until the block on tracking cookies has also been disabled. (Firefox is one such browser). So which browser are you using, Barsel?
The exact same thing happened to me whilst using Firefox (my preferred browser). However, I can still look in if I swap to Safari.

I use Chrome only for this site.
APG when the message pops up I cancel the site then go back later and it's usually ok.
It doesn't do it every time, just intermittingly.
For Ferlew: To get around the problem in Firefox of websites still thinking that you've go an ad-blocker enabled when you haven't, on a site where it's happening click on the small shield that's just to the left of the address bar and turn off 'Enhanced tracking protection'.

Barsel: I'm using Slimjet, which is based around the same 'developer-level' browser (Chromium) that Chrome is, and I don't have the problem that you're seeing. However I think that more and more users of Chrome (and almost certainly all other major browsers too) will start to experience problems with websites that use third-party cookies (as AB does) in the very near future because Google is seeking to make them a thing of the past:

Perhaps you've got a version of Chrome that's got the new feature enabled? (Browser updates are usually rolled out to users over a period of time, so some people will get an update before others do).

Have been on here for just over 10 mins and the sign has popped up again .It's a nuisance.

Thanks Chris, I'll have a look at Slimjet.
A few tips for Slimjet ( https://www.slimjet.com/ ), Barsel:

Firstly, make sure that you download and install the 32-bit version (even though you're almost certainly using a 64-bit computer). The designated 64-bit version is still experimental and currently very resource hungry.

On the first time of using it, you'll see lots of tiles linking to various sites. As you'll probably not want them, see my post at 0944 here to find out how to get Slimjet looking exactly the way that you really want it to be:

Note that Slimjet has a built-in adblocker, that's turned on by default. You can disable it on specific sites (such as this one) by clicking on the 'hand-in-a-circle' up in the top right-hand corner.

Thanks for the tips Chris.
I understand that the ads fund The Answerbank, and I can cope with that, but is there any way of selecting only those that don't involve flashing images?
