you lob a penny banger over the wall and the neighbour flattens your house! It always happens yet they never learn.

Hamas's rockets are not toys. There range is increasing and they do kill Israelis. Anybody who defends Hamas and criticises Israel for taking military action against, well would they have expected the UK to do nothing if the IRA had camped out along the Welsh border and fired rockets into England at any time of their choosing.

Killing their own is collateral damage. They will continue the fight indefinitely regardless - and so will the Israelis. There is no solution that will satisfy all.
The real evildoers in all this are in neither Gaza or Israel. They are the 'mad mullahs' who sit in comfort in !ran & Qatar dispatching millions in funds & weapons to Hamas to attack Israel by proxy.

The leaders of Hamas in turn live in luxury and do not take part in the actual war, but stir up enormous hatred & feelings of victimhood in their youth & lead them to carry out these initial violent attacks knowing full well that the retaliation will be severe & hope that the world will condemn the Israelis.

The founding story of the Jews is that they came from enslavement in Egypt to "The Promised Land" and proceeded with a total genocide of more than thirty tribes who had already been peacefully living there.

They claim the land their ancestors acquired through murder is rightfully theirs and continue to assert the boundaries need to move outwards. Not a really good way to get along with one's neighbours so hardly surprising the rest of the people in the region don't like them and drove them out long ago.

The founders of Islam and Christianity adopted the same sense brutality and really only changed the definition of the winners when their deity massacres everyone who does not bow down to them. There will be no peace while the various devotees of Abraham's Monster assert their superiority.
There is always a plus side...

// Figures from the Campaign Against Arms Trade reveal that last year (2018) the UK issued £221m worth of arms licences to defence companies exporting to Israel. //

Woohoo!! - Great for the UK economy and exports.
Beso is absolutely right. The animosity precedes the 20th century by a very long way - in fact to biblical times - but I’ve said that before. There will never be peace between them.
someone or other will sell them arms, why not us. We trade in goods, so it stands to reason that one of those would be armaments. don't we shift oodles of arms to other Arab nations notably Saudi arabia?
whatever the rights and wrongs of arms provision, this is an age old conflict and one i don't fully understand. if it goes back millenia, then perhaps its time they put down their rockets and stood back for peace talks.
beso: // Not a really good way to get along with one's neighbours so hardly surprising the rest of the people in the region don't like them [the Jews] //

In fact the reverse is true, travel throughout the Arab world & you will find there is scant regard for the Palestinians.
Khandro, //In fact the reverse is true, travel throughout the Arab world & you will find there is scant regard for the Palestinians.//

That’s conflicting. When you say ‘the reverse is true’, that indicates that the Arab world ‘likes’ the Jews rather more than it ‘likes’ the Palestinians, which is abject nonsense. Whilst it’s true that the Arab world has scant regard for the Palestinian people per se, there is no doubt whatsoever that it does support the Palestinian cause.
For Funks Sake.
How many muslim countries are there in the world?

How many Jewish countries are there in the world?

Please for everyone's sake not an all out war.

the whole land thing is irrelevant, doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, everything they do comes back on them x 1000. Time to think of alternatives, you don't take on a much more powerful enemy directly, you have to use other methods and a bit of guile. As Obiwan once said, "there are alternatives to fighting".
n. Morocco, Turkey, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Sudan, all support Israel.
My son travels a lot around in the Middle East & tells me that talking to ordinary people & taxi drivers etc. they don't hold the Palestinians in very high esteem.
Khandro, establishing diplomatic relations is, well … diplomatic. It doesn’t indicate political support

I don’t know why you’re telling me about your son. I’ve already said the Arab world has scant regard for the Palestinian people per se. In fact, in my opinion, the Arab world has scant regard for anyone.
arabs dont like palestinians? do they consider them similar to the roma in europe, basically tribalism.
